How to Get to Moonglade in WoW Retail

Since flying was unlocked across old Azeroth in Cataclysm, reaching Moonglade in retail is far easier than it used to be.

As a Druid (Retail)

1. Cast Teleport: Moonglade (or Dreamwalk, which replaces it after completing the quest To The Dreamgrove).
2. You’ll land right in Nighthaven — no travel required.

🎯 Tip: Dreamwalk in retail can also branch out to other Druid-related locations from the same menu, so check your spellbook after unlocking it.

As Non-Druid via Flying Mount (Retail)

1. Fly to Darkshore or Felwood on any flying mount.
2. Head toward the mountains at the border between Felwood and Winterspring — Moonglade sits in a valley there.
3. Fly directly in. No portal, tunnel, or corpse run needed anymore.

Via Mount Hyjal Portal (Retail)

1. In Stormwind or Orgrimmar, take the Portal to Mount Hyjal (added in Cataclysm).
2. From Mount Hyjal, fly to Whisperwind Grove in Felwood, right next to the Moonglade border.
3. Cross into Moonglade and pick up the flight path at Nighthaven’s southern platform (non-Druids can’t use the main Nighthaven flight master, only the outer one).

🎯 Tip: Once you’ve picked up the Moonglade flight point, you can fly there from any connected zone forever after.

How to Get to Moonglade in Classic WoW

Classic has no open-world flying, so non-Druids need one of the methods below.

As a Druid (Classic)

1. Learn Teleport: Moonglade automatically as part of your early Druid class quests (around level 10-14).
2. Cast it any time — it’s free and has no cooldown, and casting it again while inside Moonglade returns you to your last location.

Non-Druid Route 1: Darkshore Corpse Run

1. Travel to the northeastern coast of Darkshore, where it wraps around the top of Kalimdor.
2. Follow the coastline northeast, then east, until you get the “Discovered: Moonglade” notification.
3. Die — jump into the water or let a mob kill you. Your spirit will be pulled to the Moonglade graveyard.
4. Resurrect at the Spirit Healer inside Moonglade, then walk to Nighthaven to grab the flight path.

⚔️ Horde Warning: Darkshore is Alliance territory, so Horde players risk running into Sentinel guards along the way. Strip your gear first to avoid a hefty repair bill if you die to a guard instead.

Non-Druid Route 2: Timbermaw Hold Tunnel

1. Reach Timbermaw Hold in northern Felwood and grind Furbolg reputation to at least Unfriendly (or complete the early questline) to gain access inside.
2. Take the tunnel that snakes north on your minimap — it leads directly into Moonglade.
3. Ride or walk to Nighthaven and pick up the flight path.

🎯 Tip: This is the safer, repeatable route once you have Timbermaw access, and it doesn’t require dying first.

Non-Druid Route 3: The Lunar Festival (Seasonal)

Once a year during the Lunar Festival (mid-to-late January), Nighthaven opens its gates to everyone.

1. During the event window, both factions can teleport freely into Moonglade via the festival quest.
2. Use this opportunity to grab the flight path if you haven’t already — it’ll remain usable year-round afterward.
