Timeline So Far
October 2025 — Patch 1.60 first appears on Blizzard’s internal servers. At the time, it doesn’t attract much attention since internal builds get created and shelved regularly.
June 2026 — Dataminer Stiven_SRB surfaces “Heroic” and “Epic” license references tied to “World of Warcraft Camelot,” directly connecting the mystery build to a possible new product with multiple editions.
Late July 2026 — The Camelot build moves from Blizzard’s internal development servers to a vendor server, a step typically taken when a project needs outside access for hardware or certification testing. This signals Camelot has progressed past a purely internal experiment.
Now (August 2026) — The build remains encrypted, and Blizzard has made no public statement. Community tracking accounts continue watching for weekly updates to the 1.60 branch.
When Could Camelot Be Announced?
The most commonly cited guess is BlizzCon 2026, based on:
- The recent vendor server move, which usually happens ahead of a public-facing milestone
- The long build-up of community demand for Classic+
- Blizzard’s pattern of using BlizzCon for major Classic-related reveals in past years
None of this is confirmed, and Blizzard could just as easily announce Camelot outside of BlizzCon or delay it further.
What Would Delay a Camelot Launch?
A few realistic possibilities:
- The build is still encrypted, meaning core systems may not be finalized
- Blizzard may want a public test phase before any launch window is set
- Classic’s current content calendar (progression realms, Season of Discovery, Fresh servers) already fills near-term release slots
