TBC Classic First Aid Leveling Guide 1-375 | Burning Crusade Anniversary

First Aid is one of the easiest professions to level in TBC Classic Anniversary — and one of the most rewarding for the effort it takes. You don’t need a profession slot, the materials come mostly from questing, and once you hit 375 you’ll always have a free emergency heal in your back pocket. This guide walks you through the exact path from 1 to 375 with no wasted materials.

If you haven’t read the overview yet, check out the TBC Classic First Aid Guide for everything about bandages, how to use them, and why they matter at endgame.

Full Materials Shopping List for 1–375

Gather everything below before you start. Skill-ups have an RNG element once recipes turn yellow or green, so these numbers include a small buffer. You may finish with a little cloth left over — that’s fine.

Cloth Amount Needed Where It Drops
Linen Cloth ~190 Low-level humanoids (Elwynn, Tirisfal, Durotar…)
Wool Cloth ~165 Humanoids in Redridge, Hillsbrad, Stonetalon…
Silk Cloth ~150 Humanoids in STV, Dustwallow, Arathi…
Mageweave Cloth ~115 Humanoids in Tanaris, Un’Goro, Felwood…
Runecloth ~240 Humanoids in Western/Eastern Plaguelands, Silithus…
Netherweave Cloth ~90 Any humanoid mob in Outland — drops constantly

Pro tip: Don’t buy Netherweave Cloth in advance. You’ll naturally accumulate more than enough just by questing through Hellfire Peninsula and Zangarmarsh. Save your gold.

Required Books and Vendors

Trainers alone only take you to skill 150. After that, every unlock requires buying a specific book from a vendor. Miss these and your leveling halts — so plan ahead and grab them before each phase.

Phase 1 Books — Azeroth Vendors (for 150–300)

These are faction-locked. Buy from the vendor that matches your faction:

  • 🔵 Alliance: Deneb Walker — Arathi Highlands (/way 27.0 58.8)
  • 🔴 Horde: Zen’Balai — Dustwallow Marsh (/way 36.4 30.4)
Book Skill Required What It Unlocks
Expert First Aid — Under Wraps 125 Allows leveling past 150
Manual: Heavy Silk Bandage 180 Unlocks Heavy Silk Bandage recipe
Manual: Mageweave Bandage 210 Unlocks Mageweave Bandage recipe

🎯 Buy all three at once when you visit this vendor. You’ll need them all before you reach 300.

Phase 2 Books — Outland Vendors (for 300–375)

As soon as you step into Outland, head straight to Hellfire Peninsula and find your faction’s Master First Aid vendor:

  • 🔵 Alliance: Burko — Hellfire Peninsula (/way 22.4 39.2)
  • 🔴 Horde: Aresella — Hellfire Peninsula (/way 26.2 62.0)
Book Skill Required What It Unlocks
Master First Aid — Doctor in the House 300 Allows leveling past 300
Manual: Netherweave Bandage 330 Unlocks Netherweave Bandage recipe
Manual: Heavy Netherweave Bandage 360 Unlocks Heavy Netherweave Bandage recipe

Buy all three in a single trip. No reason to come back to this vendor.

The Triage Quest — Don’t Skip This

At skill 225 you’ll hit a wall. To push past it and become Artisan, you must complete the Triage quest. You need to be at least level 35 with 225 First Aid skill.

The quest gives you a stack of Triage Bandages and asks you to bandage 15 wounded patients before too many die. Patients come in three states — Injured, Badly Injured, and Critically Injured. Always go for the Critically Injured ones first. Click fast and don’t overthink it — most players finish on the first try.

After completing Triage, the same NPC will teach you the next three recipes at skill 240, 260, and 290, so come with your full stock of Mageweave and Runecloth already in your bags.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to level First Aid 1–375 in TBC Classic?

With materials ready and no AH delays, you can finish 1–375 in under an hour. The actual crafting is fast — the bottleneck is collecting cloth, completing the Triage quest, and making two vendor trips (one in Azeroth, one in Hellfire Peninsula). If you prep everything in advance, it’s a one-session job.

Can I skip the Triage quest?

No. Triage is required to unlock Artisan First Aid and push past skill 225. Without completing it, your skill will be hard-capped and you won’t be able to craft anything that gives skill-ups. It takes about 2 minutes and you can’t skip it.

What if I run out of cloth before hitting the target skill?

Because skill-ups are RNG-based on yellow and green recipes, you might need slightly more cloth than listed. The amounts in this guide include a buffer, but if you’re unlucky on a stretch, pick up an extra 20–30 units of the cloth you’re currently using from the Auction House. It happens occasionally.

Do I need to level First Aid in order? Can I skip straight to Netherweave?

No, you can’t skip. First Aid follows a gated skill progression — you can only craft bandages within your current skill range. You have to work through Linen, Wool, Silk, Mageweave, and Runecloth before Netherweave becomes available at skill 330.

Where is the fastest place to farm Runecloth if I’m short?

Humanoid mobs in Western and Eastern Plaguelands drop Runecloth in large quantities. Tyr’s Hand in Eastern Plaguelands is a classic farming spot — tight packs of humanoids respawn quickly. Silithus is another good option if you have the level for it.

Should I sell or keep the bandages I craft while leveling?

Keep a full stack of your highest-tier bandages at all times and sell or discard everything below that. There’s no point hoarding Heavy Wool Bandages when you’re already using Mageweave. The Auction House market for low-tier bandages is basically zero, so just vendor them for a bit of silver if your bags are filling up.
