The Emerald Dream is the final outdoor zone of World of Warcraft Dragonflight, introduced in Patch 10.2: Guardians of the Dream. It’s the legendary spirit realm of the Green Dragonflight — a primal, untouched reflection of Azeroth where nature exists in its purest form. The zone is home to the Dream Wardens faction, the Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope raid, and major events like the Superbloom.

Unlike Zaralek Cavern, which you physically fly into, the Emerald Dream is a separate realm — you enter it through a Dream Portal, not a cave opening. There are two ways in: the gateway at the Ancient Bough in Ohn’ahran Plains, and a fast portal in Valdrakken that unlocks account-wide early in the campaign.

Getting to the Emerald Dream for the first time requires a short intro questline in Patch 10.2. The good news: once you unlock the Valdrakken portal on any one character, it opens account-wide — all your alts can use it immediately.

Requirements:

• Level 70
• Complete The Coalition of Flames chapter (from Patch 10.1.7) — this is the only prerequisite

Step-by-Step: First Visit

1. Accept Call of the Dream — auto-given on login at Level 70. If it doesn’t appear, check your Adventure Guide.
2. Complete The Coalition of Flames in Valdrakken (starts at /way 50.2 53.0) if not already done — this is required before you can turn in Call of the Dream.
3. Speak with Shandris Feathermoon in Valdrakken — she sends you to Ohn’ahran Plains.
4. Fly to the Ancient Bough — a small isle off the western coast of Ohn’ahran Plains at /way 18.11 49.56. Turn in Call of the Dream here.
5. Cross through the Dream Portal — this sends you into the Emerald Dream for the first time via the quest Emerald Welcome.
6. Complete a few more quests inside — once you finish Home in the Dream, the Valdrakken portal unlocks account-wide.

Can You Fly in the Emerald Dream?

Yes. Both Dragonriding and standard flying unlocked via Dragon Isles Pathfinder work in the Emerald Dream. You can use your Dragonriding mounts from the moment you arrive, making getting around the zone fast and fluid.
