Revendreth is only reachable through Oribos, the eternal city hub of the Shadowlands, so every route below eventually funnels through there. This guide covers the fastest path from Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Oribos itself, and the newer expansion hubs like Valdrakken and Dornogal. 🎯
Where Is Revendreth?
Revendreth is the gothic, vampire-inspired realm of the Venthyr Covenant, added in the Shadowlands expansion. It’s home to Sire Denathrius and his castle, Castle Nathria, which also serves as the first raid of Shadowlands. Revendreth isn’t part of Azeroth proper — it’s one of four afterlife realms accessible only through Oribos, alongside Bastion, Maldraxxus, and Ardenweald.
Do You Need to Unlock Revendreth First?
Yes. Before any portal to Revendreth (or Oribos) becomes available, your account needs to complete the Shadowlands intro quest chain at least once. Here’s how:
- ✅ Reach level 50 on any character.
- ✅ Pick up Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons from Highlord Darion Mograine outside Grommash Hold (Horde) or High Inquisitor Whitemane outside Stormwind Keep (Alliance).
- ✅ Complete the short intro scenario in Icecrown, which ends with your character being pulled into the Shadowlands.
- ⚡ Once one character has finished the intro, alts can skip straight to Oribos by talking to Darion Mograine/Whitemane and choosing the “Oribos Awaits” dialogue option.
Revendreth itself does not exist in WoW Classic — it’s exclusive to retail WoW starting with the Shadowlands expansion, so this guide applies to Retail only.
How to Get to Revendreth from Orgrimmar
Head to the Pathfinder’s Den inside Grommash Hold and take the portal to Oribos (this only appears after unlocking Shadowlands access — see above). From Oribos, follow the Oribos → Revendreth steps below.
How to Get to Revendreth from Stormwind
Go to the Wizard’s Sanctum, the mage tower near the Stormwind city walls, and use the portal to Oribos. Once you land in Oribos, continue with the steps in the next section to reach Revendreth.
How to Get to Revendreth from Oribos
This is the main route everyone uses, regardless of starting city:
- 1️⃣ From the center of Oribos, take the transport lift up to the Ring of Transference on the upper level.
- 2️⃣ Look for the Portal to Revendreth along the ring — it sits next to the portals for Bastion, Maldraxxus, and Ardenweald.
- 3️⃣ Click the portal to arrive in Revendreth’s Ember Ward.
- 🎯 If you’ve already discovered the Revendreth flight path, you can also fly there directly from the Oribos flight master instead of using the portal.
How to Get to Revendreth from Valdrakken
Valdrakken (the Dragonflight capital) has a direct portal to Oribos in its portal room. Take that portal to Oribos, then follow the Oribos → Revendreth steps above. There is no direct portal from Valdrakken straight into Revendreth.
How to Get to Revendreth from Dornogal
Dornogal, the current The War Within hub city, also has a Portal to Oribos in its portal room. Use it to reach Oribos, then take the Ring of Transference portal to Revendreth as described above.
Fastest Way Back: Revendreth to Oribos
Once you’ve started questing in Revendreth, a permanent return portal opens up:
- 🏰 Travel to Pridefall Hamlet in southern Revendreth and use the Portal to Oribos there.
- 🩸 Venthyr Covenant members can also use the Blood Mirror network inside Sinfall (their Covenant Sanctum) to reach Pridefall Hamlet quickly, then hop through to Oribos.
- ✅ Setting your Hearthstone to Oribos or Sinfall makes repeat trips much faster once you’re playing a Venthyr character.
