The Timeless Isle is one of the most rewarding catch-up zones in World of Warcraft, but Blizzard never puts a flight master or portal hub right on top of it. Whether you’re gearing up a fresh level 90 in MoP Classic Phase 5 or popping in for a quick Timewalking badge run on Retail, this guide covers every method of reaching the island from every major city, in both versions of the game.
📍 Quick Answer: Fastest Way to Timeless Isle
The fastest route for almost everyone is the Chromie breadcrumb quest in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms (MoP Classic) or simply flying/Timewalking-portaling in on Retail. If you’ve unlocked the island before, the flight path or your Hearthstone set at Timeless Isle is faster than any city-to-city route below.
🗺️ How to Get to Timeless Isle in MoP Classic
In MoP Classic, Timeless Isle is a level 85-90 outdoor catch-up zone that opens up in Phase 5, alongside Siege of Orgrimmar. There’s no flight point connecting it to the mainland on your first visit — you have to unlock access through a short quest chain first.
Step 1: Pick Up the Quest Chain
At level 90, head to your faction’s shrine in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The quest A Flash of Bronze… should pop up automatically. It points you to Chromie near the Seat of Knowledge, above Mogu’shan Palace. If the quest doesn’t trigger on its own, just walk up to Chromie directly — she’ll hand it to you anyway.
Talking to Chromie starts Journey to the Timeless Isle and gives you a Curious Bronze Timepiece. Use it, and you’re instantly teleported to Watcher Alundra on the island’s western shore — Tushui Landing for Alliance, Huojin Landing for Horde.

✅ Tip: If you want a reusable free teleport, accept the quest, use the timepiece, then abandon the quest instead of turning it in. You can pick it back up from Chromie any time for another free trip — this only works before you’ve unlocked permanent return methods.

Once you’ve landed, grab the nearby flight path right away. From then on you have several ways back:

Take the portal or zeppelin to Pandaria from Stormwind’s harbor, then fly straight to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms or Jade Forest. From either spot, the Timeless Isle flight path (once unlocked) or a quick fatigue-water flight gets you the rest of the way.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Orgrimmar
From Orgrimmar, take the portal to Pandaria the same way Alliance players do from Stormwind. Land in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms to talk to Chromie if you haven’t unlocked the isle yet, or head straight to Jade Forest if you already have flight path access.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Silvermoon City
Silvermoon doesn’t have a direct Pandaria portal in MoP Classic. Take a mage portal or the zeppelin to Orgrimmar first, then continue through Orgrimmar’s Pandaria portal as described above.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Pandaria
If you’re already questing or farming anywhere on the Pandaria continent, this is the shortest route by far. Use the Pandaria flight network to reach Jade Forest or the Vale of Eternal Blossoms directly, then either fly the fatigue-water route or use your unlocked Timeless Isle flight path.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Jade Forest
Jade Forest is the closest mainland zone to the isle. Fly to the southeastern coast, just north of Moonwater Retreat, then continue southeast over Mistveil Sea. You’ll hit a fatigue wall over the open water, but a fast flying mount should clear it before your bar empties.
How to Get to Timeless Isle on Retail
On modern Retail, Timeless Isle has been level-scaled since Patch 7.3.5, so there’s no minimum level gate anymore — anyone can fly or portal in. Today, the island’s main draw on live realms is its role as the MoP Timewalking hub. With the Midnight expansion now live, the current capital hub is the rebuilt Silvermoon City, while Dornogal (The War Within) and Valdrakken (Dragonflight) remain reachable through the standard portal network.
The Fastest Retail Method: Dungeon Teleport
If a Timewalking event is active, the quickest way in is to accept the Timewalking quest from your capital city (offered by an NPC like Archmage Aethas Sunreaver, or simply through your Adventure Journal) and use the dungeon teleport. This drops you right at the Timewalking quartermaster.
Flying In Manually
You can still fly there the old-fashioned way: travel to Jade Forest and head southeast over the water until you reach the island. There’s no fatigue penalty concern for max-level flying mounts on most expansions’ flying systems, but expect a long flight if you’re coming from outside Pandaria.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Silvermoon City (Midnight)
From the rebuilt Silvermoon City, head to the portal room and take the portal to Orgrimmar or Stormwind. From either capital, continue via the Pandaria portal/flight route to Jade Forest, or simply use the Timewalking dungeon teleport if the event happens to be active — that skips the travel entirely.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Stormwind
Stormwind’s Mage Quarter portal room still has a working portal to Pandaria. From there, fly to Jade Forest and continue southeast to the island.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Orgrimmar
Head to the Pathfinder’s Den portal room and take the Pandaria portal, then fly to Jade Forest and continue southeast to the island, same as the Stormwind route.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Dornogal
Dornogal’s portal hub doesn’t connect directly to Pandaria. Take the portal to Stormwind or Orgrimmar first, then continue to Pandaria → Jade Forest → southeast to the isle. If a Timewalking event is live, the dungeon teleport is faster than this whole trip.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Valdrakken
Same situation as Dornogal: Valdrakken has no direct Pandaria portal. Use the portal to Stormwind or Orgrimmar, then continue to Pandaria → Jade Forest → southeast to the isle, or grab the Timewalking dungeon teleport if it’s active.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Pandaria
If you’re already on the Pandaria continent, just fly directly to the Jade Forest coastline and continue southeast over Mistveil Sea to reach the island.
How to Get to Timeless Isle from Jade Forest
Fly southeast from the southeastern coast, past Moonwater Retreat, straight to the island. This is the shortest possible flight on Retail, regardless of which expansion hub you started from.
🎯 Tip: Once on the island, find Mistweaver Xia near coordinates 43.0, 55.4 to turn in Timewarped Badges and pick up the weekly Timewalking quest — she’s the main reason most players visit Timeless Isle on Retail today.
⚡ Quick tip: None of the newer expansion hubs (Silvermoon, Dornogal, Valdrakken) have a direct portal to Pandaria. The fastest route from any of them is almost always the Timewalking dungeon teleport when the event is active — manually flying through Stormwind/Orgrimmar to Pandaria is the fallback when it isn’t.
🧭 What to Do Once You Arrive
Timeless Isle has no central quest hub directing your every move — it’s built for open-ended exploration. Once you land, your main activities are:
- Farming Timeless Coins from mobs, rares, and treasure chests
- Hunting rare elites for catch-up gear tokens and collectibles
- Building Emperor Shaohao reputation for the Time-Lost Artifact and cosmetic rewards
- Taking on the four August Celestials and the world boss Ordos (legendary cloak required for the latter)
