Step 1 — Download & Install OBS
Go to obsproject.com and download OBS Studio for Windows or Mac. Install it like any normal program.
Step 2 — Add World of Warcraft as a Source
1. Open OBS Studio
2. Under the Sources panel, click the + button
3. Select Game Capture
4. Name it “World of Warcraft” and click OK
5. Set Mode to Capture specific window
6. Select World of Warcraft from the dropdown
7. Click OK
Step 3 — Set Your Recording Settings
Go to Settings → Output → Recording:

2. Change Base Resolution to 1080×1920
3. Change Output Resolution to 1080×1920

Step 5 — Start Recording
1. Launch World of Warcraft
2. Switch back to OBS
3. Click Start Recording
4. Play your game
5. When done, click Stop Recording

How to Use Xbox Game Bar
1. Open World of Warcraft
2. Press Win + Alt + R to start recording
3. Press Win + Alt + R again to stop

1. Download and install GeForce Experience from nvidia.com
2. Open GeForce Experience
3. Press Alt + Z to open the overlay
4. Go to Settings → Video Capture
5. Set your resolution, FPS, and bitrate
6. Press Alt + F9 to start/stop recording
💡 ShadowPlay also has an Instant Replay feature — it constantly records the last 5–20 minutes in the background. Press Alt + F10 to save the last few minutes anytime!

Fix Common Recording Problems
Black Screen in OBS?
→ Right-click OBS → Run as Administrator
→ Or switch Game Capture mode to Capture any fullscreen application
FPS Dropping While Recording?
→ Switch to Hardware encoder (NVIDIA/AMD) in OBS settings
→ Lower your in-game graphics temporarily
→ Use Xbox Game Bar or ShadowPlay instead — lighter on CPU
No Audio in Recording?
→ In OBS, check the Audio Mixer — make sure Desktop Audio is not muted
→ Go to Settings → Audio and set your Desktop Audio device
Audio Out of Sync?
→ In OBS Settings → Output, make sure Encoder is set to Constant Framerate (CFR) — Variable Framerate causes audio desync in long sessions
