How to Get to Quel’Thalas via the Portal Room (Fastest Method)
The portal room is by far the quickest way to reach Quel’Thalas from anywhere in the world. Blizzard added dedicated Silvermoon City portals to both major faction hubs as part of the Midnight expansion.
Alliance — Portal from Stormwind City
Head to the Stormwind Portal Room, located inside the Mage Tower in the Mage Quarter. Look for the new Silvermoon City portal added for the Midnight expansion — it transports you directly to Quel’Thalas instantly. This portal is available to all players who own the Midnight expansion.
Horde — Portal from Orgrimmar
Go to Orgrimmar’s Portal Room (inside the building near the Cleft of Shadow). On the first floor, you’ll find the portal leading directly back to Silvermoon City. This makes jumping between Midnight zones and older expansion content extremely fast.
How to Get to Quel’Thalas by Flying Mount
One of the biggest changes in Midnight is that Quel’Thalas is now physically connected to the Eastern Kingdoms — no loading screen, no invisible wall. You can simply fly north through the Eastern Kingdoms and land directly in Eversong Woods or Silvermoon City.
- Start in Eastern Plaguelands or Tirisfal Glades.
- Fly north through the Plaguelands toward the former Ghostlands border.
- Keep flying north — Eversong Woods opens up naturally into full Quel’Thalas territory.
- Continue north into Silvermoon City or your preferred zone.

How to Get to Quel’Thalas by Ground Mount
If you prefer to ride overland (or don’t have flying unlocked), the ground path through the Eastern Kingdoms also works thanks to Midnight’s seamless zone integration.
- Travel north through Tirisfal Glades past Brill.
- Enter the Eastern Plaguelands and continue north past Light’s Hope Chapel.
- Cross into the former Ghostlands area — now part of the continuous Quel’Thalas landscape.
- Continue north into Eversong Woods and on to Silvermoon City.
🎯 Tip: Ground mount travel is slow but immersive. For alts or when you need speed, use the portal room instead.
How to Get to Quel’Thalas via Flight Path
The flight path network connects Quel’Thalas to the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms. To use it:
- Discover the Silvermoon City flight master at least once during your initial visit.
- After that, you can fly from any connected Eastern Kingdoms hub — including Light’s Hope Chapel (Eastern Plaguelands) directly to Silvermoon.
- Ironforge and other Alliance hubs also connect via the updated flight network.

How to Get to Quel’Thalas with a Mage Portal
Mages with the Midnight portal spells can open a portal directly to Silvermoon City. Simply ask a Mage in trade chat or your guild. This is instant and works from anywhere in Azeroth — perfect if you’re deep in old content and need a quick shortcut.
Set Your Hearthstone in Silvermoon City
Once you arrive in Quel’Thalas, visit any Inn in Silvermoon City and set your hearthstone there. This gives you a free teleport back with a standard cooldown — ideal if Silvermoon is your main expansion hub for Midnight Season 1 content.
Quel’Thalas Zone Overview (Midnight Expansion)
Quel’Thalas in Midnight is divided into four major leveling zones, all accessible once you’re in the region:

🎯 Important: You must complete Eversong Woods first before unlocking Zul’Aman, Harandar, or Voidstorm. Your character needs to be at least level 78 to begin the Midnight intro questline.
Silvermoon City Portal Hub (Getting Around Quel’Thalas)
Once you’re in Quel’Thalas, Silvermoon City serves as the central hub — similar to Oribos in Shadowlands or Dornogal in The War Within. From the city you can reach:
- A portal to Harandar (unlocks during the main campaign, located inside the large tree near the city’s central area)
- Portals to Voidstorm zones
- Portals back to Orgrimmar and Stormwind (located on the edge of the city)
- Timeways portals to older expansion content for farming mounts, raids, and achievements
