TBC Classic Tempest Keep Loot Table & Tier 5 Guide (The Eye)

Tempest Keep: The Eye is one of the two Phase 2 raids in TBC Classic Anniversary, and it’s where your Tier 5 shoulders and chest pieces come from. Released on May 14, 2026 alongside Serpentshrine Cavern, The Eye features four bosses — Al’ar, Void Reaver, High Astromancer Solarian, and Kael’thas Sunstrider — with loot ranging from item level 128 all the way up to ilvl 141 weapons from Kael’thas himself.

This guide covers every drop in the raid: boss-by-boss loot tables, Tier 5 token breakdown by class, item level overview, trash loot, and the legendary Ashes of Al’ar mount. For the full raid overview and boss strategies, check out our Tempest Keep hub.

Tempest Keep Item Level Overview

Before diving into individual drops, here’s a quick breakdown of item levels across the raid so you know what to expect:

Source Item Level Notes
Trash Mobs 128 BoP epics, limited selection
Al’ar, Void Reaver, Solarian 128 Standard boss drops
Tier 5 Tokens (exchanged) 133 Shoulders & Chest only
Kael’thas — Armor 138 Highest non-weapon drops
Kael’thas — Weapons 141 Best weapons in Phase 2

Kael’thas is clearly the big prize. His armor and weapons sit a full tier above everything else in the raid, which makes him the defining loot target of Phase 2.

Tier 5 Tokens: Which Class Gets What

Tempest Keep drops Shoulders (Pauldrons) and Chest (Chestguard) tokens — the other three Tier 5 pieces (Helm, Gloves, Legs) drop in Serpentshrine Cavern. To complete a full Tier 5 set you need both raids.

Tokens are split into three groups — Vanquished Champion, Vanquished Defender, and Vanquished Hero — each covering three classes:

Token Name Classes Drops From (Shoulders) Drops From (Chest)
Vanquished Champion Paladin, Rogue, Shaman Void Reaver Kael’thas Sunstrider
Vanquished Defender Druid, Priest, Warrior Void Reaver Kael’thas Sunstrider
Vanquished Hero Hunter, Mage, Warlock Void Reaver Kael’thas Sunstrider

After you pick up your token, you turn it in at one of two vendors in Shattrath City depending on your faction:

  • Aldor: Vendor located at /way 23.6, 32.6 on Aldor Rise
  • Scryers: Arodis Sunblade at /way 43.6, 90.4 in the Scryers Tier

Both vendors offer the same Tier 5 pieces — your faction choice only determines where you go, not what you get.

Tier 5 Set Bonuses Overview

Tier 5 uses a 5-piece structure with bonuses at 2 pieces and 4 pieces. Getting your 2-piece bonus from a combination of SSC and The Eye tokens is the first major goal; the 4-piece comes later as you accumulate more gear over multiple resets.

Unlike the old 8-piece sets from Classic, TBC Tier 5 is intentionally flexible — you’re expected to mix tier pieces with dungeon, crafted, and reputation gear in whichever slots give you the best overall stats. Not every tier slot will automatically beat a non-set item, so sim your character before making token decisions.

Trash Loot in The Eye

Trash mobs inside Tempest Keep have a chance to drop a small selection of BoP epics at item level 128. These aren’t farmable reliably, but they’re worth knowing about — especially the ring:

Item Armor Type Slot
Seventh Ring of the Tirisfalen Finger
Mantle of the Elven Kings Cloth Shoulder
Fire-Cord of the Magus Cloth Waist
Bark-Gloves of Ancient Wisdom Leather Hands
Girdle of Fallen Stars Mail Waist
Bands of the Celestial Archer Mail Wrist

Al’ar Loot Table

Al’ar is the first boss and one of the most visually iconic encounters in the entire expansion. He drops a solid selection of rings, trinkets, and weapons — including two fist weapons and an off-hand that are strong for physical DPS specs. No Tier 5 tokens drop here.

Item Type Slot
Band of Al’ar Finger
Phoenix-Ring of Rebirth Finger
Phoenix-Wing Cloak Cloak
Mindstorm Wristbands Cloth Wrist
Gloves of the Searing Grip Leather Hands
Fire Crest Breastplate Mail Chest
Netherbane One-Handed Axe One-Hand
Claw of the Phoenix Fist Weapon Off Hand
Talon of the Phoenix Fist Weapon Main Hand
Arcanite Steam-Pistol Gun Ranged
Talisman of the Sun King Off-hand Frill Held In Off-hand
Talon of Al’ar Trinket
Tome of Fiery Redemption Trinket

Void Reaver Loot Table

Void Reaver is typically the second boss killed in The Eye and the only boss in the raid who drops Tier 5 Shoulder tokens — all three token types drop here. Beyond the tokens, he drops a selection of helms, legs, and two solid trinkets.

Item Type Slot
Pauldrons of the Vanquished Champion Armor Token
Pauldrons of the Vanquished Defender Armor Token
Pauldrons of the Vanquished Hero Armor Token
Cowl of the Grand Engineer Cloth Head
Girdle of Zaetar Leather Waist
Void Reaver Greaves Mail Legs
Fel-Steel Warhelm Plate Head
Wristguards of Determination Plate Wrist
Warp-Spring Coil Trinket
Fel Reaver’s Piston Trinket

High Astromancer Solarian Loot Table

High Astromancer Solarian is the third boss and rewards solid caster and hybrid gear. Her table includes legs across multiple armor types, a staff, and two unique trinkets — Solarian’s Sapphire and Void Star Talisman — both popular for casters.

Item Type Slot
Trousers of the Astromancer Cloth Legs
Star-Soul Breeches Cloth Legs
Vambraces of Ending Leather Wrist
Star-Strider Boots Mail Feet
Worldstorm Gauntlets Mail Hands
Boots of the Resilient Plate Feet

Solarian’s Sapphire Trinket
Void Star Talisman Trinket

Kael’thas Sunstrider Loot Table

Kael’thas Sunstrider is the final boss of The Eye and arguably the most mechanically demanding fight in Phase 2. He drops all three Tier 5 Chest tokens, the best weapons in the entire phase, and the ultra-rare Ashes of Al’ar mount. Every single loot table item from Kael’thas sits at a higher item level than anything else in the raid.

Item Type Slot
Ashes of Al’ar Mount
Chestguard of the Vanquished Champion Armor Token
Chestguard of the Vanquished Defender Armor Token
Chestguard of the Vanquished Hero Armor Token
Band of the Ranger-General Finger
Sunshower Light Cloak Cloak
Royal Cloak of the Sunstriders Cloak
Thalassian Wildercloak Cloak
Gauntlets of the Sun King Cloth Hands
Crown of the Sun Cloth Head

Rod of the Sun King One-Handed Mace One-Hand
The Nexus Key Staff Two-Hand
Twinblade of the Phoenix Two-Handed Sword Two-Hand
Verdant Sphere Quest Item
Kael’s Vial Remnant Quest Item

The two quest items — Verdant Sphere and Kael’s Vial Remnant — are important to pick up. They’re part of questlines that tie into later progression content, so don’t leave them on the floor.

Ashes of Al’ar — The Mount

The Ashes of Al’ar is one of the most iconic mounts in WoW history and drops from Kael’thas Sunstrider. The drop rate is extremely low — roughly 1-2% — so statistically most raid groups won’t see it for months. Every kill is a lottery ticket.

It’s a guaranteed 310% flying mount, putting it among the fastest in the game at the time. If it drops, expect some tense moments in your loot channel. Quick Loot Priority Tips

  • Void Reaver first — if your guild is farming token priorities, Void Reaver is the most efficient shoulder token source
  • Kael’thas is the end goal — his loot table is in a completely different ilvl bracket from the rest of the raid
  • Cloaks from Kael — three different cloaks drop, making cloak upgrades extremely likely from that boss
  • Solarian trinkets — Solarian’s Sapphire and Void Star Talisman are strong for caster specs and often high priority for healers and SPriests
  • Don’t skip Al’ar — the fist weapons, ring, and trinkets are worth contesting, and skipping him leaves loot on the table

Yes, you need The Tempest Key to enter The Eye. The attunement chain starts with Khadgar in Shattrath City and requires clearing the final bosses of Heroic Shattered Halls, Steamvault, and Arcatraz, plus defeating Magtheridon. In TBC Classic Anniversary, attunements are account-wide once completed on one character.
