Ascension WoW Armory Guide: Tools to Check Builds & Gear

If you’re used to retail WoW’s Armory — plug in a character name, see their gear and specs instantly — Ascension WoW works a little differently. There’s no single branded “Armory” page. Instead, a handful of separate tools cover different pieces of that job: item and spell lookup, leaderboards, and combat performance analysis. Here’s what each one actually does.

The Ascension Database: Your WoWhead Equivalent

The closest thing to a central reference tool is the Ascension Database (db.ascension.gg). It’s built specifically for Ascension’s custom content and functions similarly to WoWhead — you can search for items, weapons, armor, Mystic Enchantments, NPCs, and spells, and see exactly how spells scale with stats. It’s tied directly into your main ascension.gg login, so if you’re logged into the website, you’re automatically logged into the database too.

The Database also includes a Mystic Enchantment Creator, letting you prototype and preview custom Mystic Enchantment ideas as a tooltip before sharing them with the community — useful for theorycrafting even outside of an actual build.

Leaderboards: Public Character Rankings

Ascension maintains public leaderboards (found at ascension.gg’s leaderboard section) ranking players by metrics like Prestige level across each realm, including Area 52, Elune, Bronzebeard, and Vol’jin. This is the closest thing to a public character directory — useful for seeing top players on a given realm, though it’s ranking-focused rather than a full gear/build profile viewer.

Ascension Logs: The Closest Thing to a Combat Armory

For a genuine gear-and-build breakdown tied to actual performance, Ascension Logs (ascensionlogs.gg) is the tool to use. It’s a WarcraftLogs-style combat log analyzer built specifically for Ascension. On its own, the 3.3.5 client doesn’t emit the detailed combatant data (gear, talents, specs) that modern log analysis tools rely on — so Ascension Logs depends on an addon called Ascension Logs Companion (ALC) to fill that gap.

How Ascension Logs Companion Works

Once installed, ALC automatically inspects your raid in the background and embeds each player’s gear, talent ranks, Conquest of Azeroth build nodes, and Mystic Enchant slots directly into your combat log file. When that log is uploaded to ascensionlogs.gg, the resulting report can display full character builds alongside damage, healing, and death breakdowns — essentially turning your raid log into a build-and-performance armory for that specific run.

A few practical notes:

• ALC only captures data any raid member could already see by manually inspecting you — nothing hidden or account-related is read.
• It works across Bronzebeard, Project Epoch, and Conquest of Azeroth, with additional Manastorm run tracking specific to CoA.
• You can log manually with /combatlog instead, but you’ll lose the enriched gear/talent/Mystic Enchant data that makes reports genuinely useful for build reference.

How to Set Up Ascension Logs Companion

1. Download the latest release of AscensionLogsCompanion from its GitHub releases page.
2. Extract the folder into your WoW install’s Interface/AddOns/ directory, making sure the folder is named exactly AscensionLogsCompanion (remove any “-master” suffix GitHub adds automatically).
3. Restart your game client.
4. Play a raid or dungeon as normal — the addon auto-enables combat logging when you enter, and your log file will be saved to <WoW install>/Logs/WoWCombatLog.txt.
5. Head to the Upload page on ascensionlogs.gg while logged in, and drag your combat log file onto the upload zone (zip it first if it exceeds the site’s file size limit).
