Why Mage Macros Matter in TBC Classic
Compared to most DPS classes, Mage actually requires a fairly small macro set to be competitive — but the macros you do use matter a lot. Your main areas of gain are:
- Burst alignment — stacking trinkets, potions, and cooldowns like Icy Veins, Arcane Power, and Combustion in one keypress
- Interrupt timing — landing Counterspell without losing a cast
- CC control — clean Polymorph with focus management
- Survival — toggling Ice Block in and out instantly

How to Create Macros in TBC Classic
- Press Escape → Macros or type
/macroin chat - Click New and give it a name (and icon if you want)
- Paste the macro code into the text box
- Drag the macro to your action bar and keybind it

Ice Block Toggle

Summon Water Elemental + Freeze (Burst Opener)

Summons your Water Elemental if it isn’t out, then immediately commands it to use Freeze. Use this at the start of your burst window — your pet’s Freeze sets up a Shatter combo for massive crit damage.
