TBC Classic Herbalism Leveling Guide 1-375 | Burning Crusade Anniversary

Herbalism is one of the most reliable professions you can pick in TBC Classic Anniversary. It feeds Alchemy, keeps raiders stocked with flasks and potions, and generates consistent gold week after week. This guide walks you through the fastest 1-375 leveling path, zone by zone, so you’re not wasting time running in the wrong direction.

If you want to pair this with crafting, check out our TBC Classic Alchemy Guide and our full TBC Classic Herbalism Guide for farming routes and gold tips.

Why Herbalism Is Worth It in TBC Classic Anniversary

Raid consumables never stop being in demand. Every serious raider needs mana potions, Super Mana Potions, Destruction Potions, and flasks — all of which require herbs to craft. As long as people are raiding, your herbs will sell.

🎯 A few quick reasons to pick Herbalism:

  • Pairs perfectly with Alchemy for self-sufficient raiding
  • Outland herbs drop Mote of Life and Fel Lotus as bonus loot
  • Druids can gather in Flight Form without dismounting — massive time saver
  • Low investment, high and consistent return

Before You Start: Find a Herbalism Trainer

First thing you need to do is train the profession. Walk up to any city guard and ask for the Herbalism trainer — it’ll show on your map.

Classic Trainers (skill 1–300)

Alliance: Tannysa — Stormwind City | Reyna Stonebranch — Ironforge | Firodren Mooncaller — Darnassus | Cemmorhan — The Exodar

Horde: Jandi — Orgrimmar | Martha Alliestar — Undercity | Komin Winterhoof — Thunder Bluff | Botanist Nathera — Silvermoon City

Master Herbalism Trainer (skill 300–375)

You need level 50 and Herbalism 275 to learn Master Herbalism. Head to Hellfire Peninsula right after you enter Outland.

Faction Trainer Location
Horde Ruak Stronghorn Thrallmar — big tower, /way 52.2, 36.3
Alliance Rorelien Honor Hold — Wizard’s tower first floor, /way 53.6, 65.8

Tip: Enable “Find Herbs” tracking on your minimap as soon as you train. You won’t see herb nodes without it.

Herbalism Leveling Route: 1-375

1 – 70 | Starter Zones

Pick any starter zone — they’re all roughly the same. Just run circular routes and pick everything you see.

Herbs: Peacebloom, Silverleaf, Earthroot

Horde zones: Durotar, Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades Alliance zones: Elwynn Forest, Teldrassil, Dun Morogh

70 – 115 | Low-Level Zones

Visit your trainer and upgrade to Journeyman before continuing.

Herbs: Mageroyal, Briarthorn, Stranglekelp (requires 85 to pick)

Best zones: The Barrens, Silverpine Forest, Loch Modan, Darkshore

115 – 170 | Mid-Level Zones

At skill 150, stop and visit your trainer again for the Artisan upgrade.

Herbs: Bruiseweed, Wild Steelbloom, Kingsblood (125+), Liferoot (150+)

Best zones: Hillsbrad Foothills, Wetlands, Stonetalon Mountains

170 – 205 | Stranglethorn Vale / Arathi

Herbs: Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, Khadgar’s Whisker (185+)

Best zones: Stranglethorn Vale (very efficient — run the entire coast), Arathi Highlands as backup if STV is crowded.

205 – 230 | Tanaris / Searing Gorge

Herbs: Purple Lotus, Firebloom

Best zones: Tanaris, Searing Gorge

230 – 270 | Hinterlands

Herbs: Sungrass, Purple Lotus, Ghost Mushroom (245+, spawns inside cave), Golden Sansam

Best zone: Hinterlands — wide loop around the entire zone works well.

270 – 300 | Felwood

Herbs: Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage, Golden Sansam, Gromsblood, Plaguebloom

Best zone: Felwood — do wide circular loops around the zone. These herbs are also used a lot in Alchemy, so they sell well on the AH if you have extras.

Outland Herbalism: 300 – 375

This is where things get good. Before you do anything else, visit your Master Herbalism trainer in Hellfire Peninsula (see trainer table above).

🌿 If you’re leveling as a lower-level character while questing, you’ll naturally hit 375 just by picking herbs along the way. The routes below are aimed at level 70 players with a flying mount who want to cap as fast as possible.

Outland Herb Skill Requirements

Herb Skill Required Primary Zone
Felweed 300 All Outland zones
Dreaming Glory 315 Nagrand, Blade’s Edge Mountains
Ragveil 325 Zangarmarsh
Terocone 325 Terokkar Forest
Ancient Lichen 340 Dungeons (Coilfang, Auchindoun)
Netherbloom 350 Netherstorm only
Nightmare Vine 365 Shadowmoon Valley
Mana Thistle 375 Terokkar, Netherstorm

300 – 315 | Hellfire Peninsula

Start here. Felweed is everywhere in the open fields — run wide loops and pick everything. You’ll also find some leftover Classic herbs like Dreamfoil and Golden Sansam spawning here.

🎯 You can technically stay in Hellfire all the way to 375 using only Felweed, but moving zones as your skill unlocks new herbs is faster.

315 – 325 | Nagrand or Blade’s Edge Mountains

Once you hit 315, Dreaming Glory becomes available. It spawns near rocky outcroppings and cliff edges — not flat open ground like Felweed. Nagrand and Blade’s Edge are both great choices here.

325 – 350 | Terokkar Forest

Terocone spawns all over Terokkar and it’s one of the most node-dense zones in Outland. Run loops around the outer edges. If competition is heavy, Zangarmarsh for Ragveil is a solid backup.

350 – 375 | Netherstorm

Netherbloom unlocks at 350 and only spawns in Netherstorm. Focus your loops around the main herb paths, avoiding the Eco-Domes. This is also the best zone to collect Mote of Mana from herb nodes.

⚡ If Netherstorm is too crowded, you can stay in Terokkar or Nagrand — Felweed and Dreaming Glory give skill points all the way to 375.

Bonus Loot from Outland Herbs

One of the best parts of Outland Herbalism is the extra loot you get from nodes. Every time you pick a herb, there’s a chance for bonus materials.

Drop Source Approximate Chance
Mote of Life Felweed, Dreaming Glory, Ragveil, Terocone ~15%
Mote of Mana Netherbloom ~15%
Fel Lotus All Outland herbs Rare

10 Motes combine into a Primal (Life or Mana), which sell consistently well on the AH all expansion long.

Tips to Level Faster

Druids are the kings of Herbalism. They can pick herbs directly in Flight Form without landing or dismounting — saves a huge amount of time on every single node.

Use circular routes, not straight lines. Nodes respawn on a timer, so if you run loops you’ll pass the same spots again and find fresh herbs waiting.

Enchant your gloves. Enchant Gloves – Advanced Herbalism gives +5 Herbalism skill. Pair it with a Herbalist’s Spade (+5 skill) to pick slightly higher-tier herbs before your base skill unlocks them.

Don’t stress about competition. If a zone is overcrowded, just move to the backup option listed above. Felweed and Dreaming Glory give skill points all the way to cap in multiple zones.

FAQ

What is the fastest way to level Herbalism 1-375 in TBC Classic Anniversary?

The fastest route is: starter zones (1-70) → Barrens/Silverpine (70-115) → Hillsbrad/Wetlands (115-170) → Stranglethorn Vale (170-205) → Tanaris (205-230) → Hinterlands (230-270) → Felwood (270-300) → then Outland zones from 300-375. Follow circular routes and always have Find Herbs enabled on your minimap.

Do I need a flying mount to level Herbalism in Outland?

No, but it helps a lot. Without flying, you can still reach 375 by picking herbs while questing through Outland zones. If you have a flying mount — especially if you’re a Druid using Flight Form — you’ll cap significantly faster.

Can I stay in one Outland zone and reach 375?

Yes. Felweed and Dreaming Glory both give skill points all the way to 375, so you can technically stay in Hellfire Peninsula, Nagrand, or Blade’s Edge Mountains the entire time. Moving zones as new herbs unlock is faster, but staying put works if the zone is quiet.

What is the best class for Herbalism in TBC Classic Anniversary?

Druid is by far the best class for Herbalism. They can gather herbs directly in Flight Form without dismounting, which saves a significant amount of time compared to every other class. Rogues are also decent for Classic-era zones since they can stealth into high-level areas safely.

What herbs should I farm in Outland for gold?

Felweed, Dreaming Glory, and Nightmare Vine are consistently high-demand because Alchemy needs them for flasks and potions. Netherbloom is also valuable since it’s only found in Netherstorm and drops Mote of Mana. Fel Lotus is rare but sells for a premium every time it drops.

What enchant should I use to boost my Herbalism skill?

Use Enchant Gloves – Advanced Herbalism for +5 skill on your gloves, and carry a Herbalist’s Spade for another +5. Together these let you pick herbs slightly before your base skill reaches the minimum requirement, which speeds up leveling transitions between zones.
